MS Taranaki Inc

The Taranaki Multiple Sclerosis Society is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with MS in the Taranaki Region.

The society is run by a committee that is elected from, and by members of the society. Every member has a right to vote in the committee elections and at the society’s Annual General Meeting.

The society is registered as a charitable organisation under the Charities Act 2005 – Registration Number CC25707.

What we do

Our mission is to provide and maintain the highest level of services to our members within the resources available to us.

We cover the Taranaki region from Mokau in the North to Patea in the South. The society provides free services to all people who are affected by MS. Whether you have lived with MS, have been recently diagnosed with this condition, or you are a family member, friend, caregiver or co-worker of someone who has MS, we are able to help you.

We offer information and education about MS and have a wide range of support services designed to encourage and assist people with MS and their families to enjoy a positive, active and healthy lives to their full potential.

Who we are

Our Field Worker has a nursing background coupled and has had extensive experience working with people with MS.

We have a dedicated committee who are committed to ensuring that our work in the community reaches its full potential. We organise support groups, exercise classes, social events and fun experiences for people with MS, and our fundraising programme is spread throughout the year.

The committee is made up of members who are elected by our membership at the Annual general Meeting. The committee represents the interests of our members to direct the strategies and policies of the society in a responsible and accountable way.
